Robert is a Broadcast television producer and director. He holds memberships as a Director - Directors Guild of America and is in the Entertainment Executive Branch - Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Starting his career working for the legendary Roger Corman, Robert learned the complexities and nuances of feature film production. He then used that experience to gain positions as an NBC Page, Asst. Editor - "Rolling Stones 25x5" documentary; and on the Broadcast series: "On Trial", "That’s Incredible,” "The Home Show, " and "Rescue 911". Robert then accepted a position at NBCUniversal where he enjoyed working for the next twenty-one years, rising to Senior Director, NBC Marketing and Digital.
In this position, Robert was responsible for all live talent promotion in Prime Time. Additionally, he expanded his responsibilities to include producing live promotion for NBC Cable, Film/Television Studios, Cable Channels and Print. He has produced and directed over 6,000 hours of live multi-camera productions with "A list" Film, Television, Music, and Print talent from locations around the globe.
In producing these segments, Robert had the opportunity to work with such great ocean explorers as Bob Ballard, James Cameron, and wildlife experts from National Geographic. His love for ocean discovery and preservation is inspired by their work.
When Cynthia Matzke earned her master’s from Scripps Institution of Oceanography Robert kept his promise to promote ocean conservancy. He left NBCUniversal to form a new company with Cynthia - Spiral Pacific, Inc, a 501 C-3 Corporation. He also formed 40-Foot Wave Productions based in Hermosa Beach, CA.
