Tak Lee graduated in June 2019 with a B.S. in Marine Biology from The Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
In his 4 years at SIO, he’s had experience shadowing a PhD candidate whose research focused on predator prey relationships under ocean acidified environments, developing and teaching innovative STEM curriculum , and photographing immune cells engulfing pathogens as a photographer for Saltman Quarterly, a UCSD science magazine.
Tak recognizes that just as important as scientific research is, one needs to communicate science effectively in order to mobilize change. He aspires to be a nature conservation storyteller through photography and filmmaking to make science more accessible and relatable to the masses.
Tak currently works under three companies in the ocean technology industry with diverse responsibilities ranging from web development, sale and project management. He is also a brand ambassador for Mammalz, a social media platform for all things related to nature.
